On a gorgeous sunny day in southern Washington, Taylor & Anna became husband & wife. It was a beautiful wedding, uplifting, joyful & full of love. Friends & family shed tears of joy as the couple shared their vows. Here is a sneak peak of some of their photos . Congrats Taylor & Anna!!

I had the honor of photographing the wedding of someone I’ve known for over 10 years. The ceremony was beautiful & the couple was radiant with joy. It was held at a very cute park with seagulls, ducks, swans and geese. The reception felt like a big family re-union, it was a very friendly atmosphere, with a wide variety of potluck food and lots of fun & laughter.

A dozen dogs!

The dog I’m pet-sitting, Piddles, recently gave birth to 10 puppies! A month ago, 2 dogs was a handful but now I have a dozen dogs (10 pups, the momma, plus my dog) & its been… challenging. But the pups are very cute

The puppies are now 8 days old & are doing well. I call two of them “Cowpups” because they look like little cows! Here are some photos of them at 2 days old & a few of them at 5 days old:

So you all know the story turns out good, but we did have a VERY bad scare. When Piddles went into labor, it was while my husband & I ran to the store to get some food & mostly to try to find a kiddie pool as a whelping box, but no store sold them & the 1 that did was a large pool that wouldn’t fit in the room. We came home to 3 pups, the momma was sitting on her bed & I thought she was done & she wanted to go outside. So I let her out but she had another pup in my lawn & the neighbor’s dog got out & was headed to our yard (its not fenced). I tried to get the pup so I could bring it inside but she picked it up by the head & carried the pup around the yard. I finally got the pup from her & brought it inside along with Piddles. She had 6 more pups after that, the last one at 10:30pm. She acted like she was done, for 30 minutes, nothing, but with the “pup in the lawn experience” I couldn’t sleep & checked on her around 1am. She was still having contractions & by 2:30am there was still no pup, so I called the ER vet & they said a pup was probably stuck in her & she likely needed a C-section or she’d die, but they said it would be 1 thousand dollars all due up front before they’d even see her & another few thousand for a C-section & they didn’t do payment plans & only took certain credit cards. I checked on Piddles every 20 to 30 minutes, scared for her life. At around 6:30am she got the afterbirth out & she was really done this time. She had a vet checkup & everything looks good… but still, she is so getting spayed after the pups are old enough so she won’t scare anyone like that & also so she’ll never have to go through this again!

Springtime!

The weather is beautiful today! Perfect picture-taking weather… warm with a cool breeze & some clouds above to avoid direct sunlight. Yesterday Oregon could not make up its mind, it went from sunshine to hail, to snow, to hail back to sunshine throughout the entire day. I started working with the Humane Society that day too & took one of the dogs out for a walk, it was nice, beautiful weather when we started, I got to the very end of the road & it started hailing like crazy! I wish it was this nice yesterday! However, now that we have good warm weather, my eye is partly swollen & I have to take it easy inside . I’ve done a little “spring cleaning” to the house but got distracted looking for “springtime” inspired photos. It really makes me want to go outside… but there’s always tomorrow (so long as the Oregon weather cooperates)!

I love how shocked Hayley looks in this photo, she does not understand “fetch” at all!

I’ve missed blogging! Every day I have the time to go outside to take photos, it rains. Every time I’m working, its nice out. Seems a little backwards to me!

Piddles is adjusting well to the house, she’s acting more well behaved than my dog! Last week, it was such a nice day I left the dogs in the kennel for a few hours. Right after lunch, I got a call from my vet who told me someone called them about my black & white dog at their house. I was terrified, if they called the vet before me it must be bad. However, Hayley was fine & actually only 2 blocks away from home. Piddles stayed in the kennel. She still runs into my camera so no updated photos yet. The band photos I was talking about in my last post were rescheduled due to changing work schedules. We have some really great ideas but we will have to wait until the time is right.

The kittens are being so crazy! They are constantly trying to crawl under anything they can, especially the blankets. Then they race around trying to get out, usually while one is on top pouncing on the one under the blanket. Its probably the greatest entertainment I’ve ever seen .

An update on my husband’s kidney infection: 2 shots of olive oil & 2 shots of lemon juice helped quite a bit! He felt sick for about 2 weeks but after he took this, by the next day he felt almost completely better. I love home remedies .

I’m so thankful its Friday! Some friends are coming over soon & we’re going to Xbox it up. My poor husband has a kidney infection, so he’s been living off of water, juice & veggies for the past few days. He miss food. A lot. Conner has been scratching & biting a lot while playing & did a pretty good number on my husband’s hand. My husband has not had a very good week but he’s starting to feel better. We got cranberry capsules, colloidal silver drops, “Kidney formula” vitamins (natural anti-biotic), some pro-biotics, apple cider vinegar & a ton of water. He should be better within a few days.

I haven’t taken many photos recently, but I plan to take some this weekend & some band photos next week. For now, here is some of my Portrait photography

Musical kittens & a gliding dog

Conner loves music. Not in the same way my husband & I do. My husband & I enjoy going to concerts & we enjoy listening to our record player at home. We are careful with all our music stuff, we don’t destroy anything… Conner is not following our example. Conner is always attacking anything headphone or speaker wire related. Every time we change a record, Conner runs full speed & tries to climb in it. I have one of those hoodies that have headphones as drawstrings & Conner constantly runs up to me when he sees it & tries eating it, or running off with it! He doesn’t get away with that more than maybe 1 second, however Conner was successful at eating a pair of my husband’s headphones. They were left on the couch for one night & in the morning, they had been chewed & destroyed. Conner kept trying to carry around the part he chewed off around the house, like a prize.

Murphy is acting a little… odd. He’s been looking up at the ceiling & “chirping” & runs around the living room looking up, not really paying attention to where he’s going. There must be a tiny bug up there, but I can’t see anything at all. Also, he’s drinking out of the toilet. Conner is drinking out of the shower. They have both been play fighting so hard, they are constantly running into walls, doors, other objects in the house. Conner has been rolling around on the carpet, sliding across it & rolling around & acting more dog than cat! Hayley (the dog) does this on the grass every time we go outside. She will lay down in the grass, roll over to her side & move all 4 of her legs & anchor her nails into the grass so she starts to “glide” across the lawn. She usually goes about 7 feet then will loop back in a circle, all while laying on her side. I have pictures to prove it !
